So many people ask me when should I eat?  A lot of people have been asking me this question lately so I’m answering it for you today.

When should I eat?

There is so much conflicting info online about how and when to eat for weight loss.  Everyone seems to have different ideas on how many meals you should eat a day.

  • The old school mentality says it’s best to have 3 square meals a day.
  • Bodybuilder types say you need to eat 6 small meals a day.
  • Others still suggest eating a heavy breakfast then tapering your calories distribution downward throughout the day.

The timing of your meals and snacks is very important.  In today’s episode of CCtv, I share 3 simple tips on meal times could make the biggest difference in your results.  If you’ve ever been confused about if the timing of your meals would impact weight loss, then you’re going to love today’s episode.

Here are my Top 3 tips on When to Eat for Weight Loss.  They’re proven and will work for just about every one on the planet and will help you lose weight by knowing when to eat.

When Should I Eat to Lose Weight and Get Fit?

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, when it comes to eating for weight loss you need to work in a way that’s best for you… Your body type, your lifestyle and your goal.  But the following 3 tips will work for everyone on the planet.

3 Tips about When to Eat

  • Eat within an hour of waking up – Go for lean protein, complex or simple carbs, and healthy fats.  After breakfast…
  • Eat your next meals every 3 to 4 hours – Why 3 to 4 hours?  That’s about how long it should take you to feel true authentic hunger again.  If you’re hungrier sooner it could mean one of 4 things:  your metabolism is running hot, you’re not drinking enough water, you didn’t eat enough at breakfast or you are the wrong thing for your body type and you’re experiencing a hormone induced craving that you think is hunger.  Drink water.  Still hungry?  Eat!  Not hungry?  Keep drinking water.  Still craving?  Your hormones need to be Reset…. Otherwise you’ll continue to struggle with cravings.
  • Avoid eating within 3 hours of your bedtime – I know a lot of people think they shouldn’t eat past 7 or 8 pm.   Not true.  What if you go to bed at 12 or 1am?

Should I Avoid Eating After 7 pm?

A lot of people think they should avoid eating after a certain time, because they assume they’ll lose weight. That may be true.  But, hunger is your body’s way of saying “I need fuel.”   Feed it the wrong fuels and you’ll experience signs and symptoms that you’ve eaten the wrong thing for your body type and you may end up triggering your body to store weight.  If you ignore authentic hunger long enough, you’ll enter starvation mode and your metabolism will slow down.  When that happens it’ll become even more difficult to lose weight.

But, If you give your body the fuel it prefers, you’ll be better able to lose weight.  If you do find yourself ravenously hungry right before you go to bed, popping a small portion of protein and drinking some water will help you fight off the hunger pangs so you can sleep soundly.  A small handful of nuts, a small piece of chicken or some clean lean luncheon meat are perfect choices for feeling satisfied before bed time.

As always, these tips work, if you work them.  So work it!  You’re worth it!
