It doesn’t matter if you’re going through some major life stuff… or dealing with one of life’s curveballs.  Feeling uneasy, icky, and uncomfortable in any way can easily affect your motivation… if you let it.  Stress, boredom, anxiety, depression, anger, feeling like you can’t or aren’t good enough… all icky feelings can take you out of the game and away from your happiness quickly…. I have been through some shit… and I’m going to make another video of what I’ve been through… and how I dealt with it…  Here’s my best advice and recommendations based on how I kept my mind right… when I first moved to Dallas… Damn… Dallas gave me quite the haze faze….

Life’s going to throw curveballs no matter what.  A bill, a breakup, an accident, a diagnosis…

You can’t control what you’re going to get… YOU CAN control how you react….

Tip 1) Do not Play a Victim

Don’t throw yourself a never ending pity party….

Ever know someone who just couldn’t get over something… you give them advice, you’re supportive and positive… and they just don’t stop…  they can’t get over it.  But, eventually you do, and the person is left alone, because they’ve alienated everyone…

Everyone is dealing with his or her own ‘stuff.’  I’m not saying don’t call your friends and family and vent… NO!  I am saying, vent, share your feelings, get the advice you need and then keep it moving in a positive way.

Tip 2)  Do not pass Go… Do not collect $200…  Do directly to Solution

Pay attention to your feelings.  Don’t ignore them, don’t discount them, don’t struggle against them.  Ever have a million things to do and keep fighting to make it work or figure it out??  You’re like a computer… too many things at once and you will crash.  Pay attention to your feeling and do what you need to do that’s best for you…

  • Tired?  Take a nap.
  • Overwhelmed?  Cut things off or let them go.
  • Stressed?  Take a break.  Take a step back.  Take a day.  Take some time for you.
  • Worried?  Need help?  Ask for it.

Call someone you know can relate… and will give you the best advice for your situation…  This could be a friend, a family member, a professional… make the call…

Tip 3)  Don’t Put Band Aides on Bullet Holes….  Avoid Negativity and Soul Sucking People, Places, and Things

Any mind or mood altering substances can and will make it worse…. There’s a reason why alcohol, processed foods, caffeine, and cigarettes are the top 4 best selling items in grocery stores…  You know when something’s a bad idea and that it’ll have consequences…  Ever take a shot when you’ve already had a few drinks… and you knew it was going to take you across the line…

If you know it’ll make it Don’t be afraid to say yes or no… also Avoid say “screw it” and doing it anyway when deep down it’s only going to make it worse…  I’m a realist.  Nobody’s perfect and there will be days when you need to say Screw it…. I’m tapping out, I’m going to party, twerk, cry, eat whatever I want.  Sorry!  Not Sorry!

Tip 4)  Set Rules and Boundaries

For the days you do decide you’re going to do it anyway… Then do what you have to do.  An example, I’m going do whatever I want for 2 days…  I’m going to stay in bed, on the couch for 48 hours… I’m not going to the gym, I’m going to eat whatever I damn well please, until Monday… If you’re still in bed 6 months later…

Tip 5)  Get Professional Help

If you need it GET IT.  There is no shame in this.  If you’ve tried everything and you’re still in a funk find a trusted, reputable therapist or psychologist in your area.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE follow these tips… otherwise you may develop adrenal fatigue from the stress and screw up your hormones.

So that’s my advice… from experience I can tell you it works, if you work it, so work it YOU are so worth it!
